Four matches later, Tokushima Vortis finally managed to keep a clean sheet, even though they were not able to score against their opponent. Ricardo Rodríguez opted for his 3-4-3 classic formation with Kawata up front.
The first half saw equal chances for both teams, with a chance for Zweigen, from a counterattack. Vortis came close to scoring in the opposing goal through a deflected shot from Iwao.
The first few minutes of the second half were similar to that of the first half, with the match gaining momentum during the last twenty minutes. Tokushima were searching for the goal, through several attempted chances on goal. First chance came from a freekick by Konishi, that was saved by Zweigen’s goalkeeper. Moments later, Kawata had another clearer chance on goal, with a shot from within the penalty area that went just over the bar. Nomura was also close to scoring a goal with a great shot from outside the penalty area that came off the post. Despite Tokushima’s continuous efforts on goal, they failed to score.
The draw leaves the Blues with 18 points, in 14th place in Japan League 2 table. The next game, Tokushima Vortis will continue to fight for that win but this time against Machida Zelvia at home.
