Tokushima Vortis were able to seal a new victory in another spectacular match against Mito Hollyhock. Nomura, after great collective play, scored the winning goal for the hosts that places them in playoff spots; four victories in the last five matches. With this win, Tokushima are currently in fifth position with 64 points, one point away from sixth place and only three points away from direct promotion spot, currently in the hands of Montedio.
To seal that victory, Tokushima had to come back from behind on the scoreline once again. Mito Hollyhock went ahead on the scoreboard in the 20th minute through a counterattack launched and successfully completed by Fukumitsu. Mito had the opportunity to widen the scoreline a few minutes later, but the shot went out of Tokushima’s goal.
Ricardo Rodríguez’s team were quick to react in the second half. The first attempt came from a set piece that ended with great intervention by Mito goalkeeper against Kishimoto’s shot. The equaliser, however, came in the 62nd minute. Tokushima played the ball from the left wing into the penalty area where Kawata was able to score from close range. Towards the end of the game, Mito failed twice to make it 1-2, however Tokushima were able to score in the final minutes of the game thanks to a great shot by Nomura.
The next match will be played against Gifu, who are at the bottom of the table and are fighting relegation.
