Matchday 9 of Thai Premier League in which Suphanburi visited the stadium of Osotspa, and another away point conquered in a close game with very few goal chances in which defence ruled over attack. The final score, 0-0, is a good reflection of this.
The first half had very few chances for both sides. After several long-distance attempts by both teams, the first shot on goal came from a free-kick on the edge of the box for the local team, but the shot went directly to the hands of Sinthaweechai. Suphanburi answered first with a through-pass by Luiz to the breakthrough into the box of Dellatorre in the left side, but his shot went gently into the goalkeeper’s hands; then with a strong shot from outside the box that was deflected with some trouble by the goalkeeper, the deflection went to Dellatorre who could not kick the ball in a struggle with a local defender. The local team replied with two opportunities, first with a long-distance shot that went again directly into Sinthaweechai’s hands, and then in a play in the left side that ended in a crossing into the box to the far post, where it was headed by a rival player to the opposite post, but Rozario managed to clear the ball when it seemed it would enter the goal; the subsequent deflection was sent out by a rival player. That was all in a first half without much interest.
Suphanburi came back from the lockers more intense, more determined to take the lead in the scoreboard. Due to this greater intensity the visiting team had the first chance in this second half, after a breakthrough by Luiz in the centre of the attack, he made a through-pass to Dellatorre for his breakthrough sided to the left of the box, but his shot on goal hit the right post of the rival’s goal. Luiz had the second chance, with a strong shot on goal from outside the box that went wide out. The third good opportunity came in a personal play by Jakkapan from the centre of the attack, he started dribbling rival players to the left side, he entered the box and crossed a low ball that could not be cleared by the local defenders, it ended in the feet of Luiz in the far post, but his shot was cleared by the rival goalkeeper with a good save.
After the draw Suphanburi escalates one position in the standings and is now seventh, although tied with Chiangrai United to 15 points. At the top, everything remains the same, as the first three teams won their respective matches. Bangkok United continues leader with 22 points, followed by Muang Thong United and Bangkok Glass, tied to 21 points.
