Matchday 16 of Thai Premier League in which Suphanburi received the visit of the second team in the table, Bangkok United, who took the 3 points by a 0-1 win without doing particular merits to deserve it.
The initial attempts on goal were for Suphanburi, with two shots on goal from outside the box, first by Dellatorre sided to the right but his shot went over the bar, and then by Carmelo after a counterattack led by himself in left wing, he dribbled into the centre but his soft shot went wide out to the right of the rival’s goal. The third chance was for Dellatorre, after a through pass by Carmelo from left wing for his breakthrough in the centre of the attack, that left him hand-to-hand against the goalkeeper but a rival defender was faster and cleared the ball with a nice tackle when he was going to shoot on goal. However, and despite the chances created by the local team, it was the visiting team who managed to take the lead in the scoreboard; it was minute 21. A play in the left side ended in a bad crossing to the box, a rival player touched the ball with a header and the ball ended falling in the edge of the box where Winothai was, who kicked the ball without letting it touch the ground and scored a nice goal that entered close to the right post of Sinthaweechai’s goal. The local team had the chance to level the match in a through pass to the breakthrough into the box of Prasit sided to the left, who dribbled the goalkeeper with a nice touch but a rival defender was faster and cleared the ball when he was going to shoot on goal, the clearance went into the feet of Dellatorre, who shot on goal but the ball was cleared by the goalkeeper. Carmelo also had the chance with a header inside the box after a crossing from the right side, but it went directly into the goalkeeper’s hands. The visiting team managed to get into halftime with the lead almost without creating clear chances in the rival’s box, but they were more effective in the opportunity they had.
The second half started with the local team pressing more in search for the tie. The first chance was polemic, as a free-kick executed from right wing by Rangsan ended in a header by Rozario that deflected in a rival player and entered the goal close to the left post; however, the referee disallowed the goal by the call of the linesman due to a hand-ball, but the ball seemed to hit the arm of a visiting defender.
