Matchday 5: Ventforet Kofu 0 - Tokushima Vortis 1

Tokushima Vortis, under a heavy snowfall, added their third victory in a row of the season. A win that places the Blues in the sixth position, already in play-off spots. Tokushima Vortis, in addition, gets closer to the leadership, now in the hands of Fagiano Okayama with 13 points. The team of Ricardo Rodríguez has managed to consolidate all its lines, from defense to attack. A balanced gameplay with the classic offensive philosophy trademark of the team.

Goya could make the 0-1 in the 18th minute, appearing inside the box hand to hand against the goalkeeper. His shot with left foot, however, was not good, sending the ball out. Shimaya tried minutes later from outside the box but his shot went slightly over the crossbar. The danger of Ventforet Kofu only came from a corner kick. Tanaka scored, but the goal was disallowed due to a clear offside. Tokushima Vortis continued dominating the game, also having the highest number of goal chances. Goya came close again to the 0-1 seconds before the end of the first half with a good header that went out very close to the local goal.

The goal resisted, as it happened in the 60th minute of the game. Sisi led a good attack play, with a through pass to the left wing, from where Uchida executed a great crossing to the box for Yamasaki, who had entered the field seconds before, but his shot hit the post. Unfortunately, Yamasaki hit the post again only two minutes later. It was impossible to have worse luck. Ventforet Kofu, meanwhile, was helpless against the dominance of the game by Tokushima Vortis. Consequence of that impotence, Yuzawa committed in the 80th minute a clear foul over Uchida, receiving a deserved red card. In that play, and in the most unforeseen way, came the goal of the victory for Tokushima Vortis. Iwao executed the free-kick into the heart of the box and the attempted clearance by Arai, captain of Ventforet Kofu, ended in a goal. Tokushima Vortis sealed this way a new and important victory. The next matchday plays again an away game against Albirex Niigata.
