Tokushima Vortis has stagnated in the month of April, adding to the previous two consecutive draws a defeat this weekend in the home game against Kamatamare Sanuki. And it does with the problems that have been repeating since the beginning of the season: the bad luck on goal. Tokushima Vortis has match after match clear chances that, for one reason or another, do not end in a goal. Against Kamatamare Sanuki this tendency accentuated. In barely three minutes, from the 11th to the 14th, Ricardo Rodríguez’s team hit the post twice. First Yamasaki with a great header that hit the crossbar and then Izutsu in a sided free-kick.
The first half was dominated completely by the squad of Ricardo Rodríguez with a ball possession that at times reached 62%. A dominance dotted with several approaches to the box of Kamatamare Sanuki that ended with shots without too much danger. There was not any news from the visiting team until the 37th minute of the game, with a clear goal chance for Hara, their striker, who could not connect well his shot on goal. This way closed a first half in which Tokushima Vortis had forgiven the rival again.
And it kept doing over the second half. In the 50th minute the local team elaborated a beautiful set-play that ended with a shot by Shimaya that went out. The match was demanding a goal from Tokushima Vortis, who deserved it for making more merits. Yet there was the crossbar again to avoid it. In the 56th minute Iwao encountered Tokushima Vortis’ biggest enemy this afternoon. The blue fans could not believe it. And even less when Kamatamare Sanuki scored the 0-1 in the 66th minute of the match. A long crossing from the left wing was poorly defended by the local defense and Nagata scored with a header without a mark in the far post. The visitors scored in their only shot on goal. Despite the tremendous blow, the men of Ricardo Rodríguez stood up again to turn around the match. Sato, with fifteen minutes to go, had a chance inside the box to connect a header that went slightly out. It was the definitive confirmation that the goal would not come.
After this defeat, Tokushima Vortis is in 16th place with eleven points in ten games, in which has only scored eight goals. It is early to talk about decisive matches, but in the next matchday against Yokohama they need the three points.
