Three wins in a row, four goals scored and none conceded. A streak that opens a new season for Tokushima Vortis, with all the options still intact, both for play-off spots and direct promotion to Japan League 1. This victory against Kyoto Sanga allows this situation: three points behind the sixth in the table, Yokahama FC, and seven behind Renofa Yamaguhci, second in the standings.
This victory was conquered on a starting 3-4-3, showing once again the wide tactical possibilities of Ricardo Rodríguez. A model with which Tokushima Vortis, despite being a tight score in appearance, lived a quiet game. Tokushima Vortis’ matches have now less vertigo in each area, especially in their own, where they have reduced the number of goal chances for the rival. An aspect that does not influence the offensive vocation of Tokushima Vortis players, always with an associative football in mind.
On top of the security in defense it has been added more accuracy on goal. Konishi scored the only goal of the game (minute 25) with a great goal from outside the box in an acrobatic kick. The 1-0 was greatly celebrated with all the players and staff, a clear sign of the union of a group that has risen spectacularly against the adversities of the beginning of the season. Ten minutes later Kano, with a soft kick over the goalkeeper, could score the second goal, but Kyoto Sanga’s goalkeeper reacted very well and saved the goal.
Both players were protagonists shortly after the start of the second half, in the 55th minute, when they clashed violently outside the box, bringing the concern to the stands. Kano, shocked, had to be replaced by Sato. An accident that had its impact on the match, cooling it down in the last thirty minutes. There were barely two approaches on goal without danger from Kyoto Sanga, always surpassed by the locals. The blues face next matchday Zweigen Kanazawa, team placed fifteenth in the standings with 18 points.
