Spectacular match played by two teams with play-offs aspirations. An even duel played with a very offensive personality by both teams, which caused a lot of goal chances. The one with more accuracy on goal won the game. Despite the enormous effort of Tokushima Vortis, that managed to tie a game that seemed lost. However, in the last minutes of the second half the tie flew away that would have done justice to what was seen on the pitch.
Montedio Yamagata hit first with a goal in the 8th minute of the game by Kobayashi in an acrobatic shot inside the box after a crossing from the right side. Tokushima Vortis had the chance to level the game fifteen minutes into the game, in a shot on goal where Yamasaki faced the good response from the local goalkeeper. The match was already totally open. Tokushima Vortis was taking risks in search for the tie and Montedio Yamagata responded with another goal opportunity in the 23rd minute. The most offensive version of Ricardo Rodríguez men generated many spaces in defense. Montedio Yamagata took advantage of this in a counterattack in the 25th minute to make the 2-0 after an individual play by Minami. The worst possible news for Tokushima Vortis, who, once again, was able to change the dynamic of the game to draw it.
First came a goal by Shimaya before the break with a crossing from the wing that ended up inside the local goal. Only a few minutes after halftime, Tokushima Vortis tied the game in a penalty converted by Yamasaki. A new match started for both teams after almost an hour of rush. Tokushima Vortis kept taking risks in search for the victory, also Montedio Yamagata. Thus came goal chances for both sides. It was a matter of who would score first, and it was the locals, with fifteen minutes to go with a header from Sakano, taking advantage of a great crossing received from the left side. Tokushima Vortis tried everything to tie the match, but without any luck.
The defeat leaves the Blues in the seventeenth place in the standings, with an eye more on the lower positions than on the play-off spots, right now ten points ahead. It is time to reset for the next matchday, against Oita Trinita, current leader of the Japan League 2 with 40 points.
