Tokushima Vortis got their first win of the season thanks to a late volley by forward Kiyotake in the 95th minute of the match. The goal did not come as a surprise as Tokushima Vortis had multiple scoring chances and were the dominating side throughout the 94 minutes of the match.
The first occasion for Nomura, came from a shot fired outside the area that was saved by Gifu"s goalkeeper. The hosts came close to a clear chance for scoring after a cross from the right end that Kiyotake managed to play, but without scoring.
Vortis came under close to conceding once after losing possession to the ball, however, Kajikawa was able to successfully intervene. Later on, Vortis was close to scoring twice again. First chance came from a shot by Uchida from the corner near the goal of Gifu and minutes later Kiyotake with a shot that came off the post.
The match seemed to be nearing a goalless draw. However, Vortis" clear consistency to score came into effect in the last minutes of the game, thanks to Kiyotake. The win places Tokushima Vortis 11th in the table that is led by Mito Hollyjock and FC Ryukyu, both with two wins.
Meanwhile, in Japan 1 there were duels of Spaniards. Iniesta"s Vissel Kobe and Villa defeated Fernando Torres' Sagan Tosu 1-0. David Villa was the scorer of the winning goal.
