The first leg of Toyota Cup semi-finals played in Buriram United’s home stadium ended 1-0. Although it is a tough rival we still have chances to win in our stadium the 30th June, so the round is still open.
The first chance in the match was ours, Ekkaluck crossed the ball to the box from the left side and Yai did not reach the ball by little. The only goal of the match came in the 18th minute when a defender from Buriram headed, in a strange position, a free-kick. In the 34th minute Ukrit, who was returning to the starting line-up, had to make a good save to send to corner a free-kick aimed to the up right hand side of the goal. These were the best chances in the first half.
In the 64th minute Buriram had a good opportunity to increase the difference, but the forward sent the ball over the bar when he was in front of Ukrit. In the 84th minute they were close to score again but the cross from the left side was impossible to reach by the attacker. In the 86th minute we had another setback with the sending-off of Henri that made things more complicated; however in the 88th minute Heberty, after a great control, made a strong shot that was saved by the rival goalkeeper not with difficulty, and in the 90th minute Ukrit made a great save to avoid the 2-0.
Although we are 1 goal under and we did not have many clear chances, the round remains open for the second leg, when we will fight hard to comeback against one of the teams currently in better shape.
