First match of Thai Premier League 2015 for Bangkok Glass. Actually it is matchday 2, as matchday 1 was postponed due to the participation in Asian Champions League. Bangkok Glass starts the season in the best way after an away win by 1-2 against Chiangrai United.
The game started with a chance for Bangkok Glass in a free-kick by Narong that was headed by Matt Smith into the goalkeeper’s hands. Bangkok Glass soon took the lead after a great through-pass from Tasevski in the left side that was kicked into goal by Siriphala with a nice one-touch, it was minute 12. Chiangrai could level the match with a free-kick from the side of the box by Choeichiu that was deflected by Narit in a good save. However, Chiangrai tied the game in their next opportunity, it was minute 23. After a cross to the box from the right side and a series of deflections inside the box Saiwaew kicked the ball into goal. From here to the end of the first half, not many more chances, the best one a shot by Tasevski inside the box that was blocked by the goalkeeper without trouble.
The second half started with opportunities for both sides. Narong had the first one for Bangkok Glass with a shot from outside the box after a ball recovery, but it went directly to the goalkeeper’s hands. The next two chances were for Chiangrai United, first with a good breakthrough in the right wing by Rungrath but his crossed shot went slightly wide, and then with a good play again in the right side that ended with a shot into goal from the side of the box well saved by Narit. Bangkok Glass answered with another good play in the left wing by Leandro de Oliveira, who kicked slightly over the bar after a good dribbling. In the 71st minute Bangkok Glass took the lead with a cross from the right side that Tasevski could not head but Narong, alone in the second post, kicked into goal. Chiangrai had the chance to level the match with a free-kick from the left side of the box that hit the bar, and with a header after a cross from the right side that was deflected to corner by Narit in a great save. Despite the pressure from Chiangrai in the last minutes, the score did not move.
With this victory Bangkok Glass starts the season in a great way, and is tenth in the standings with 3 points, but with a game less than Army United, leader with 6 points; following the leader there is a group of 7 teams tied with 4 points.
