Matchday 3 of Thai Premier League, and Bangkok Glass received the visit at his home Leo Stadium of Muang Thong United. Draw without goals between two teams that are destined to fight for the first spots of the table at season end.
Game without clear goal chances and defences dominating over attacks. The match started with an opportunity for Muang Thong in the 4th minute, in a play wrongly disallowed for offside by the referee; a through pass between the defenders ended in Teerasil Dangda, but his shot went to the post. Muang Thong had another chance shortly after (min. 17) with a free kick on the edge of the box, after a set play the shot by Yooyen went out close to the right post of Narit. The best chances for Bangkok Glass this first half came from two combinations on the edge of the box that ended with shots that went out, minutes 7 and 42.
The second half continued in the same fashion. The best opportunities to score came from long distance shots without too much danger for both goalkeepers. Bangkok Glass could score in the 56th minute with a far shot from Peeraphong that went out close to the left post of Muang Thong’s goal, and two minutes later with a shot by Kaimbi from the right side of the box that went to the side of the net, yet the scoreboard did not move. The polemic action of the game came in minute 84, after a long side throw to the heart of the box executed from the right side by Muang Thong, the ball bounced over the goalkeeper without any player touching it and was cleared by a Bangkok Glass defender over the line. The referee conceded the goal at first, but then disallowed it after consulting with the linesman.
With this draw Bangkok Glass in now eighth with 4 points, 3 points behind the head of the table that now share a platoon of 4 teams tied to 7 points, but with a game less as it still has to recover matchday 1 after it was postponed due to the Asian Champions League.
