Matchday 17: Port FC 0 - Bangkok Glass 1

Matchday 17 in Thai Premier League and important away victory that allows Bangkok Glass to continue fighting for the first spot in the standings.

The first dangerous play of the game was for the visiting team, in a through-pass to the back of the defence in the right side to the arrival of Kaikaew, who entered the box but his shot was well cleared by the goalkeeper. The second chance was for Anan, but his shot from outside the box went softly to the hands of the goalkeeper. However it was the local team who had the best opportunity in their first attempt. The rival forward entered the box between two defenders in a nice personal play and ended hand-to-hand against Narit, who saved the goal witha magnificent hand. In the subsequent corner kick the ball went long to the far post and headed by a rival player coming from second line but Narit saved his team again with a great save close to the post. Bangkok Glass reacted with a good chance in a ball crossed to the area from the left side, the ball went to the far post to the arrival of Tanasith, who kicked the ball in a one-touch shot but the goalkeeper did a great save. Tanasith would not miss the next opportunity. In a new through-pass to the back of the right-back to Tanasith, he entered the box and scored with a low shot, it was minute 33. Port FC reacted immediately with a break-through by one of their attackers in right wing, who entered the box, but his high and centred shot was well cleared by Narit. This was all in the first half.

The second half started with three consecutive chances for the visiting team. The first one with a strong shot from the edge of the box by Bodin that was well blocked by the goalkeeper; then with another break-through by Tanasith in right wing but his shot on goal went wide out; and finally in a ball that ended in the feet of Kaikaew inside the box but his shot was cleared by the goalkeeper. The local team answered with two chances in plays from the right side, the first one for the rival forward who entered the box and dribbled rivals until he ended hand-to-hand against Narit, who cleared the ball to corner; and the second one in a break-through to the goal line but the low shot was well cleared by Narit with his foot. Bangkok Glass answered with a break-through by Bodin in the left side up to the goal line but his crossing to the box crossed in front of the goalkeeper and was cleared to corner by a defender when Goshi was going to kick in the second post. The local team lost a player when a defender was sent-off for stopping a break-through by Bodin with an elbow hit in his face. From here til the end, just a couple more chances for Port FC. First in a free-kick from the edge of the box, cleared with some trouble by Narit, the deflection ended inside the small box but was well cleared to corner by a visiting defender; and then with a crossing to the box from right wing that went to the far post and headed by a rival player, the ball went over Narit and was cleared over the goal line by a defender.

With this win Bangkok Glass continues third in the table with 35 points, two points behind the leaders Buriram United and Muang Thong United, tied to 37 points after the home tie of Buriram and the win of Muang Thong. Behind, Bangkok United ties with Suphanburi to 31 points and are now fourth and fifth, respectively.
