Matchday 18 in Thai Premier League, in which Bangkok Glass received the visit at Leo Stadium of Chiangrai United. Disputed game with quite a few goals that ended up falling to the local side.
The first dangerous chance was for the local team, in a play in the right side that ended with a through-pass to the back of the defence to the arrival of Tanasith, who entered the box and crossed the ball to Aridane in the edge of the small box but a defender managed to clear the ball just when Aridane was going to kick on goal. However, it was the visiting team who took the lead in the scoreboard in their first approach to the rival area, in a play with plenty of luck; it was minute 13. In a play in left wing, the ball was crossed to the area to the close post and Peeraphong tried to clear with the chest, with the bad luck that the ball went on goal close to the right post of Narit. A very unlucky play. Yet Bangkok Glass reacted in the best way and tied the game in the following play. It was minute 16. In a through pass to Aridane inside the box, his low crossing to the second post found Bordin, coming alone from second line, who scored. Aridane was also the star in the next play, in a free-kick sided to the right executed by Tasevski to the far post, but his header went slightly out. He also had a chance in a crossing from the right wing that he headed out again, in a struggle with a defender. Another free-kick by Tasevski from the right side to the second post was headed by Matt Smith but the goalkeeper placed a good hand to clear the ball to corner. The subsequent corner-kick was cleared by a defender, the ball went to the feet of Bordin, who crossed the ball to the box and Matt Smith again headed close to the post. Aridane once again had a chance in a corner-kick, but his header was cleared over the goal line by a rival defender. However, football is football, and Chiangrai managed to take the lead in the scoreboard in the last minute of the first half and with their first shot on goal. Renatinho made a far shot on goal from the right side that entered the goal of Narit close to the opposite post. An amazing goal to close the first half, in which Chiangrai ended up leading without having made any particular merits.
Nevertheless, luck would change side in the second half. A play by Tanasith in left wing ended with a crossing to the box, Krisadee tried to clear the ball but did it to the wrong side and the ball entered his own goal. It was minute 49 and luck was even for both sides. Tasevski could put Bangkok Glass in advantage but his shot from outside the box went slightly out, yet he did not miss his next chance, after a dubious penalty conceded by the referee after a foul over Tanasith when he was entering the box from left side. Tasevski did not miss and put the local team in advantage in the 57th minute. Chiangrai had a great chance to level the match right after, in a corner-kick to the close post, the ball was headed backwards to the second post where it was headed by a rival player, and the ball cleared by Narit over the goal line in a great save when it seemed the ball would enter the goal. The visiting team also had a free-kick executed from the right side to the first post, but the header from the rival player went over the bar. Aridane had a new chance after a through-pass that left him in the edge of the box in struggle with a rival defender and his shot went slightly out. The best chance of the second half was for Chiangrai, the ball ended in the feet of Renatinho in right wing, he tried to cross the ball to the area but it got a curved effect, surpassed Narit and hit in the edge of the goal. It would have been another great goal. Chiangrai had another opportunity with a long distance shot that was well saved by Narit. Supachai had a good chance for the local team in a free-kick executed from the right-hand side of the box that hit the bar. Chiangrai had the chance to level the match in the last play of the game, but the shot from outside the box went to the side of the net, and the scoreboard did not move.
With this win Bangkok Glass now has 38 points and ties in the first spot of the standings with Buriram United and Muang Thong United, who draw their face-to-face match. Behind, Chonburi is now fourth with 33 points, already five points behind Bangkok Glass.
