Matchday 23 in Thai Premier League, in which Bangkok Glass received the visit of Army United. In a game full of excitement and alternatives for both sides, the final score was a three goals tie. In the first leg, Bangkok Glass won 0-1.
The match started with chances for both teams, although mainly coming from long distance shots. The first one for the visiting team came from a play in right wing that ended in a crossing to the box that was headed by their forward close to the right post of Narit´s goal, who cleared the ball with a good save, and also with a far shot well blocked by Narit. The first opportunity for the local team came from a play by Toti in left wing, who dribbled to the inside and made a strong shot on goal from the edge of the box that was well cleared by the goalkeeper close to the post. Army United answered with another strong shot from outside the box, well saved again by Narit, and the next one was for Bangkok Glass in the feet of Peeraphong, who kicked on goal from a very long distance and the ball went out nearly touching the bar. In minute 33 the local team would take the lead, after a corner-kick from right side that was headed on goal by Aridane in the edge of the small box, and the ball entered the goal after touching the post. Bangkok Glass could increase the advantage in the scoreboard in the next play, in a counter-attack in left wing that ended with a crossing to the box for the arrival of Tasevski, but his shot went over the bar. However, the game would change completely in only 1 minute. In the 38th minute Army United levelled the match, after a play in right side that ended with a crossing to the near post, the ball was touched by a rival player to the far post for the arrival of Alex, who only had to kick the ball on goal. In the next play, again in right wing, the ball ended in the feet of a rival player inside the box, his shot from the edge of the box was cleared by Narit, but the clearance went short and Alex only had to kick on goal; it was minute 39 and, incredibly, Army United managed to turn the score around.
The second half started with Bangkok Glass pressing more for the tie. The first chance came from a crossing to the box from right side, after several deflections the ball ended in Bordin, who shot over the bar. Army United answered in the next play with a shot from outside the box that went directly to the hands of Narit. However, Bangkok Glass levelled the score in the next play. A crossing from right wing from Bordin was headed on goal by Aridane from the edge of the small box in a ball impossible for the goalkeeper that entered close to his right post. It was minute 55 and there was still a long way to go. Bordin had a chance to put his team in advantage with a great shot from outside the box that went out close to the post; the next one was for Tasevski, after a ball recovery in midfield and a through-pass he entered the box but his shot over the goalkeeper hit the bar; also Aridane had a new chance to score his third goal, but the headed out close to the post the crossing by Bordin from right wing; again Tasevski, with a shot from outside the box that went out nearly touching the right post of Army United. Shortly after, Bangkok Glass had the best chance, in a penalty whistled by the referee after a foul over Peeraphong when he was trying to control the ball inside the box. Tasevski kicked the penalty but the goalkeeper made a good save and cleared the ball. Yet, football was going to be cruel with the local team; after the overwhelming control of the match in the second half without being able to get advantage, the visiting team managed to score in their next play, again in a play in right wing that ended with a crossing to the far post, headed into goal by Mongkol coming from second line; it was minute 81. Bangkok Glass did not give up and continued pressing, and had the reward in the 91st minute, scoring the definitive tie. A corner kicked from right wing was headed on goal by Aridane, defended by 3 players, and Praweenwat deflected the ball just in front of the goalkeeper, sending the ball to the back of the net. The goal made justice to the merits done by both teams. Bangkok Glass even had a last chance to win the match in a new crossing from right side, Aridane could not head the ball by centimetres, and Bordin in the far post shot on goal and hit the post. A great chance to close a match full of excitement and alternatives.
With this tie Bangkok Glass remains third with 43 points, already 10 points down from the leaders, Muang Thong and Buriram. Behind, Bangkok United is fourth 2 points below, and after them 3 teams tied to 40 points, Chonburi, Suphanburi and Ratchaburi.
